PostSubject: Password on a folder.   October 5th 2010, 2:40 am

Something I learned how to do in the computer and I was not the one who made the code but I thought it was something useful to some people. How to put a password in a normal folder.

First you make a new folder and name it as you wish. Then in the folder make a new .txt document from notepad. Then copy and paste the following code in the document.

@ECHO OFF
title Type Password To Unlock Folder
if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK
if NOT EXIST Private goto MDLOCKER
:CONFIRM
echo Are you sure you want to lock the folder? (Yes/No) or (Y/N)
set/p "cho=>"
if %cho%==YES goto LOCK
if %cho%==NO goto LOCK
if %cho%==no goto LOCK
if %cho%==yes goto LOCK
if %cho%==No goto LOCK
if %cho%==Yes goto LOCK
if %cho%==Y goto LOCK
if %cho%==y goto LOCK
if %cho%==n goto END
if %cho%==N goto END
echo Invalid Choice (Y/N) or (Yes/No) Not Case Sensitive.
goto CONFIRM
:LOCK
ren Private "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
echo Folder locked
goto End
:UNLOCK
echo Enter Password To Unlock Folder
set/p "pass=>"
if NOT %pass%==Password goto FAIL
attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Private
echo Folder Unlocked Successfully
goto End
:FAIL
echo Incorrect Password
Goto :UNLOCK
:MDLOCKER
md Private
echo Private Folder Created successfully
goto End
:End

ok now the red words that say password is where you put the password you want to use to unlock the folder. Then save the .txt document to .bat format. Now close it all open the folder and run the .bat file you just created and a folder that says "private" should appear. Put whatever you want to store in there and keep private. Then run the .bat file again and it will ask if you want to lock it and put "y" (without the " " ) and it will get locked. Then to unlock just run the .bat file again and type in your password and your private folder will come back up. There it is any questions ask.
